LIE/HM multiple fracture preparations

Unify some internal data handling taking the LIE/M process as basis for multiple fractures implementation in LIE/HM. Some smaller improvements along the way.

LIE/HM tests needed some minor modification, but these would come anyway.

Review commit-wise.
