Suggestions for XDMF/HDF5
It is really great that OGS supports HDF5 as output format, as it makes data (post-)processing much more efficient. However, some suggestions come into my mind, looking at some xdmf/hdf5 data produced by OGS:
- Not sure whether it is a bug, but it seems like quantities related to cells like saturation_avg are only written once and not for every time step.
The absolute time is only written to the XDMF file. It would simplify post-processing if it would be integrated as a variable in the HDF5 file as well.- Dimensions are called phony_dim_X. I think the data structure would be more comprehensible if dimensions would have meaningful names like "positions", "nodes" or "time".
